California and Washington, D.C. Judges Now Added to an Expanded New Edition of The Robing Room - Where the Judges are Judged!

The Robing Room, an online community of judicial opinion, celebrated today the grand opening of two major new sections for rating state judges: California and Washington, D.C. Added to the prior line-up of New York, Florida, and the Federal judiciary, these two new sites greatly expand the website's capability to rate the performance of judges nationwide. The Robing Room is a free forum in which lawyers from all areas of the legal profession may leave commentary and ratings about both state and federal judges. The anonymity of those who comment is closely maintained. In addition to a numerical rating system based upon various aspects of courtroom and trial performance, those who visit the site are encouraged to leave written commentary - whether positive or negative - about the judges whom they\'ve encountered over the course of their practice. The Robing Room began operation in early 2006 with a site dedicated to the Federal judiciary, and has been expanding ever since. "We found public demand to be increasing steadily," said Richard Levitt, creator of the groundbreaking website, " and so we decided to add state judges to it as well. We intend to have a section for each of the fifty states, plus D.C. and, of course, the original Federal section." Work on the website continues as the plans of its creator are slowly realized. With the inauguration of the California and Washington, D.C. sections of The Robing Room website, it is now possible for the legal community in both of those key areas of the country to judge the judges and provide helpful feedback for other members of their profession, thereby improving the practice of law in America. Plans are underway to include all fifty states in The Robing Room, with the next state sites currently under construction being Illinois, New Jersey, Oregon and Wisconsin.
